Q&A:

Does dermaplaning make hair grow back thicker?
NO! Vellus hair (peach fuzz) does not grow back thicker. It’s actually a myth that shaving makes hair grow back thicker. It just feels that way because you’re cutting the hair off at the thickest point, at an angle, so it’s bound to feel rough.

How often will I have to do this treatment?
Dermaplaning is best done every 4 weeks. However if you chose to do this once or twice for a special occasion, there is no negative side effects from doing so.

Is it safe for someone with acne?
No. Unfortunately, if you have active breakouts, dermaplaning can cause those pustules to open & spread bacteria on your face. Yuck.

Can’t I just shave my face at home?
You could, but It would be nothing like dermaplaning. Dermaplaning is an EXFOLIATION service, the hair removal is just a bonus. At home razors are not sharp, or precise enough to remove dead skin effectively.

What about waxing?
Again, dermaplaning is an EXFOLIATION service, the hair removal is just a bonus. Facial waxing does provide slight exfoliation, however it pales in comparison to dermaplaning.
